Sample Gdańsk City Breaks: 3 days

For centuries Gdańsk has been a special destination for travellers, attracting merchants, sailors, artists and scholars. Today the city still charms visitors with its unique beauty.

ARRIVAL:Friday DEPARTURE: Monday


This tour, although focusing on Gdańsk, offers the possibility to visit other interesting places nearby including Sopot - a famous sea resort .

Gdańsk dates back over 1000 years. In the Middle Ages, it became a prosperous trading port and a Free City between the Wars. It still has magnificent streets, Gothic churches and merchant houses. In the 20th century, Gdansk was the scene of the first battle of the Second World War, and it is the birthplace of Solidarity, which brought the downfall of Communism.

Hotels: 3 nights in excellent Qubus Hotel or another hotel chosen individually by the customer in Gdańsk

Meals: Half board with breakfasts taken at the hotel; the evening meal is included in selected restaurants.

Travel: We pick you up from the airport or Stena Line Terminal in Gdynia. Transfers to and from hotels are included as well as public transport.


Walks/Fitness: walks are very easy with only average fitness required.

Itinerary

Day 1
Late morning arrival (if coming by plane) . Transfer to the hotel.

Walkabout in Old Gdańsk led by professional guides: from Green Gate to Upland Gate
Evening dinner at Kubicki Restaurant or Metamorphosis Restaurant in the Main Town

Walk along The Long Embankment to the hotel

Day 2
Sightseeing in Gdańsk: St Mary’s Basilica – the biggest brick church in the world and Arthus Court, a 15th century trade guild hall.

Free time for souvenir hunting (amber jewellery shops and other curiosities) or Goldwasser degustation

Afternoon boat to Westerplatte Battlefield
Transfer to gala dinner in one of recommended Sopot restaurants ( for example Cyrano et Roxane) and a walkabout

Transfer to the Hotel in Gdansk

Day 3
Tram to Oliwa. Sightseeing the 13th century cathedral with the famous Rococo organ ( 20-minute organ demonstration). Climb the Pachołek viewing point (optional) Transfer to Gdynia with a photo stop at Orłowo Pier. Continue to Gdynia with Kamienna Góra viewing point. Stroll in the yacht marina and sightseeing of one of vessel museums (optional).

Farewell dinner at Walczyk Smakow Restaurant. Return to the hotel.

Day 4
Transfer to Gdansk Airport/ Stena Line Terminal.  Departure
